Liebster Award

Thanks to Jenny at beauty R&R I have been nominated for the Liebster Award. I haven't even been writing my blog for long and so to be tagged was really amazing for me.

The rules

1) You must link the blogger who nominated you
2) You must answer 10 questions given to you by your nominee
3) You must choose 10 bloggers (who have less than 200 followers) to be nominated for the awards
4) You must then come up with 10 questions you would like your nominees to answer
5) Once you have done this, you must go to their blogs and let them know you nominated them

My answers

  1. Why did you start your blog? I started my blog purely because I already had a passion for fashion and wanted to meet new people and become a part of the blogging community.
  2. What is your favourite thing about yourself? My smile because I think that everyone always looks better with a smile on their face. I mean, who can be mad at someone with a cute smile! :)
  3. What is your current favourite fragrance? Anything I can get my hands on! Well, I'm not much of a fragrance fanatic but I mainly use Britney Spear's fragrance.
  4. What is your favourite blush? I don't tend to wear make-up often and when I do it is very minimal so I normally just use 'MAC sunbasque' for a very subtle rose cheek.
  5. Who is your style icon? Jourdan Dunn, duh!
  6. Where is your favourite place to shop? Overall I would say Zara but it depends because on one shopping day trip I may be all about forever 21 and then the next day I will be mad about New Look.
  7. What's your go-to mascara? Rimmel Glam Eyes, it is so good. You hardly need to put any on to give your eyelashes volume.
  8. What's one piece of advice that you would give to your younger self? Umm...I'm hardly near my wealth of wisdom just yet but I would say not to care too much about what others think of you.
  9. What's one of your must-have skincare products? Everything and anything by neutrogena.
  10. What decade/era's fashion inspires you most? I'm going to be really boring here and admit I can't tell the difference between fashion in the 60's, 70's and 80's. Sorry!
Now here are the bloggers I recognise for the Liebster award...
These are the questions that I would like to ask the bloggers I've tagged...
  1. Why did you start your blog?
  2. Who is your make-up inspiration?
  3. What is your favourite accessory piece right now?
  4. Chocolate or vanilla or strawberry?
  5. Lipstick or lipgloss?
  6. What is your favourite thing about yourself?
  7. What is your go-to mascara?
  8. Which beauty icon would you like to be for a day?
  9. Name 3 beauty items you could not live without?
  10. What is your favourite everyday hairstyle?

I do like to be beside the seaside

Holiday fashion is oh-so wonderful that I believed it was essential for me to go on holiday to write this post...honestly it was purely for research. After coming back from holiday I think it would be best for me to explain the holiday dos and don'ts!

Do try your best to look great  (although I know you always do! Yes I'm talking to you. The one looking at the screen right now in your amazing outfit.)

Don't try too hard and turn up to your evening meal in killer heels and a bouffant as high as the ceiling.

Do relax like you've never relaxed before.

Don't forget your surroundings and turn up to your evening meal in your bikini and a see-through sarong.

Do buy pretty costumes that you can swim gracefully in when in the sea.

Don't buy a pretty costume which is two sizes too small...not a pretty sight.

Do ignore all these dos and don'ts because my holidays abroad would not be the same without these fashion mishaps.

Don't take any of these points to heart unless your an old sweaty man planning to holiday in unbearable heat!

Watching paint dry

We've all been through that horrendous period of waiting for our nails to dry. Blowing your nails frantically before you take part in an activity, not touching anything in case you ruin a nail and -the worst of all- accidentally forgetting you have painted your nails

But stop right there, Rosie Apple is here to help!

Okay, I'll stop with the cheesy introduction but I seriously do know a simple way to speed up the waiting game. It's pretty simple, all you need is running water.

After 3 minutes of painting your fingernails run them under cold water and voila you have sped up the process!

Pretty for Prom #1

Recently, I had my school prom and I thought it was really fun. Everybody was dressed up and put a lot
of effort into ensuring they looked amazing! And they did! My look was quite simplistic however if you want to go simple to your prom/ball then it is so important to make sure you have a bit of glitz here and there.

Another tip would be to remember to wear jewelry as it is unbelievable the amount of girls who forgot to wear it. Even if you wear a couple of bangles or bracelets-it will be sure to complete your outfit. I decided to opt for gold bangles and a hand chain. However if you have a sweetheart dress  then it would be advisable to wear a necklace unless your dress is all glitz and glamour then you may not need to.

Dress: Miss Selfridge
Wedges: Carvela
Clutch: Accessorize
Hand chain: Chohans(Birmingham)
Bangles: Chohans (Birmingham)
Looking pretty for prom can be done in so many ways. What is/was your dress like?

I will be doing some more prom posts soon (what other girls wore, hair, makeup, etc) so if you want to ensure you don't miss them follow me on Bloglovin' or Google friend connect. If you have any requests for the up and coming prom posts then feel free to comment below.

Tame your mane

With my hair being wavy/curly it can so easily become frizzy that without hair products I would be lost. Luckily, I have 3 incredibly reliable hair products which get me through my bad hair days.

 1) Wella SP Polished Waves Curl Cream

(£12.50 - Wella SP Polished Waves)
This curl cream is extremely light and like it says on bottle it really does add a polished shine to my waves. I find that I get the best result with this when I use on damp hair and allow it to dry naturally as this gives my hair more body. However if you want to define and accentuate your curls then it would be better to use on dry hair.

2)  Pantene Pro-V Curl Defining Mousse

(Pantene Pro-V Curl Defining Mousse)

It is a given that as this is a mousse it will not be the nicest to put on your hair but Pantene Pro-V doesn't seem as heavy as many mousses on the shelves today. My hair stays shiny and frizz-free when I put it on and so it is my favorite to use if I want to define my curls. However it can only be used on wet or damp hair.

3) John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Original Formula

Overall this hair serum is most probably the best at blocking frizz however it is not good for people who want to define their curls as it was not what the product was created for.  I don't tend to use this as much as the products above but if I know I am not going to leave my hair natural then I will be sure to put this on. Once I put this on, I can feel how much healthier my hair is.

I hope you enjoyed my first post! :)
